I read a lot of other people's experiences, which interests me. I'm glad that your route helped solidify your understanding about yourself.
When my daughter was diagnosed as autistic, I ended up realising that it was inherited from me. I also spent my whole life wondering why I never seemed to fit in or understand the world around me, also thinking that I just needed to try harder. After that realisation and some further thinking, I decided I didn't need a formal diagnosis to continue - in my case I didn't believe it would ultimately change anything in my life, and I felt comfortable enough to just know why I felt different. The people who care for me know, and that's all I needed.
You write so eloquently and are able to express your thoughts and feelings so well. I’m actually astounded hahah. This was incredible, working in special education must have been intense. But also imagine if you never got that training or that inclination into investigating further! Awesome piece Georgia 🤍🤍
oh how i adore this, georgia🩵 typing symptoms into chatgpt must be a canonical experience bc i did the same thing when i first started learning about my neurodivergence as an adult (mind you i didn’t even know what chatgpt was at the time but reading you say this really brought me back to that moment…isn’t it so weird how our understanding of AI has changed so much so so quickly?? anyways i digress) - thank you for being so open with your experience, and making it a safe space for others to talk about theirs as well🩵🩵
Honestly I was ready for so much hate for admitting I used AI once, I didn’t realise others did it too in this situation - have I ever had a unique experience?!😭 ALWAYS a safe space here🤍
the relief that comes with any diagnosis is so huge. it’s a big exhale to finally have explanation and answers for why you fell a certain way. yay! i’m glad you felt affirmed and understood 🫶🏻
I always like to hear the experiences of those who got diagnosed later in life (I was 8) and I'm glad it has enabled you to understand yourself better! I also feel more comfortable knowing I have another autistic person on here to talk to 😁
Your work is incredible Georgia! Thank you for sharing 🫶
Thank you so much, Aaron🤍

Absolutely!! Thank you🤍
i really enjoyed this! you’ve inspired me to learn more about neurodivergency :)
Thank you! It’s so important that we do - it’s eye-opening to realise those around us experience the world in such different ways🤍

loved your openness in this, Georgia! working as an LSA in a school that also specialised in this highlighted my own ADHD symptoms too 💜
Thank you so much!🤍
